welcome to match six of the cricket World Cup, and it is the hosts England against Pakistan in Nottingham. We had four quite one-sided contests and then a decent game yesterday when the mighty Bangladeshis beat South Africa. Some were calling that very funny an upset but not those who had studied the bowling rankings. The South Africans look like they could be home before the postcards: they are oh-for-two having already been well beaten by England.

Eoin Morgan’s side will go into this contest as warm favourites. It has for a generation been the Cricket World Cup cliche that Pakistan are mercurial, unpredictable, on-their-day etc etc but to be honest they are becoming very predictable indeed in this format: they are absolutely mince and have lost 11 in a row!

England come into the contest in fine fettle and look set to include Mark Wood to work on a perceived weakness in the Pakistan ranks against short and quick stuff, which seems to be playing a role in this World Cup so far. He and Jofra Archer will look to set about Pakistan, although we are not expecting the pitch to offer all that much for the pacers and it might be that Pakistan’s talented twirlymen have their say after all.

Tim Wigmore has a more in-depth preview here, I will bring you the teams and the toss as soon as I have it. Kick off is at half past ten UK time. The sixth match of ICC World Cup 2019 will be played on 3rd June at 3 PM IST between England and Pakistan at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
